Scholarship Search Engines There are many search engines available online. But remember: Institutional scholarships, local Hawaii scholarships, the scholarships listed on this web page, and WUE Schools are where you will find more opportunities to actually be awarded scholarships. Read this article to help you choose a search engine, if you still want to use one. www.reviews.com/best-scholarship- |
Warning! Please read before searching. A word of caution to students and their families seeking scholarships for college. Don't pay for help to find money for college. Families are encouraged to check companies which have made offers by contacting the Better Business Bureau to verify its reputation and if complaints have been made. Please also see: Office of Inspector General for more information on scholarship scams. Colleges offer institutional scholarships Check the financial aid page on the websites of the colleges to which you are applying for their institutional scholarships. They are for use at that college only, but they are often the most generous of scholarships so they are worth the time it takes to apply. Financial Aid is awarded on a first come first served basis so make sure you submit your FAFSA before the colleges' priority admissions and financial aid deadlines. The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE):
WUE makes residents of WICHE states eligible for a reduced tuition rate at participating two- and four-year college programs outside of their home state. The WUE reduced tuition rate is not automatically awarded to all eligible candidates. Many institutions limit the number of new WUE awards each academic year, so apply early! WICHE states include: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. There is no application through WICHE. Students apply for WUE directly through the colleges at which they are applying. |
