DRAGON DEN PAID INTERNSHIP:
W
e are inviting our area high school students 16-years-old or older and recent high school graduates from Laupāhoehoe CPCS, Honokaʻa High School, Kanu o Ka ʻĀina NCPCS, and Kohala High School to join our Career Readiness class and Internship Program called Dragon Den. This is a part of Kō Education Center’s Careers Pathways Alliance for Student Success (CareerPASS) and funded with a Community Engagement and Resources grant from Kamehameha Schools West Hawaii Region.

Students will meet online Tuesdays and Fridays from 3-5pm and some Saturdays  to learn important pre-employment and professional skills, including resume writing, interviewing for a job and communicating effectively with colleagues and employers. Students will also gain real-world experience working with a client (Hāmākua-Kohala Health Center) to develop and finish and project over the course of the semester. This program is led by our Career Readiness Instructor Ric Mendoza and Project Coach Krystal Meiszel. Students can earn $600 for their participation, and we can certify their 60 hours if they are interested in gaining the DOE work credit.

We encourage students to apply at http://bit.ly/KoECDDApp. The program begins next Tuesday Sept 22, but we will keep the application open till next week Friday. If you have any questions, please email or call me at the number below.
